The 8 best AI visibility tools, compared
The best AI visibility tool depends on your budget and the software you already use. Peec AI and Otterly.ai are simple trackers with clear self-serve prices. Profound and Scrunch suit bigger teams, and Semrush or Ahrefs make sense if you already pay for them.
An AI visibility tool asks AI assistants the same set of questions, called prompts, every day and saves the answers. It shows how often your brand is named, which competitors show up and which pages the AI links to. If the idea is new to you, start with what AI visibility is.
This comparison is based on their public pricing pages as of September 2026. We didn’t run a hands-on test of each tool for this post. Prices change often, so check each vendor’s current page before you buy.

The best AI visibility tools, one by one
1. Peec AI
Peec AI tracks how often AI names your brand, where it appears in the answer and whether the tone is positive or negative. It also shows which sources the AI used. Every plan includes unlimited users and daily tracking.
Starter is $95 a month for 50 prompts. Pro is $245 for 150 prompts, and Advanced is $495 for 350. There’s a free trial.
- Best for: marketing teams that want a clean daily tracker without a long contract.
- Keep in mind: each self-serve plan tracks three AI engines of your choice. Wider coverage, up to 13 engines, is on the custom Enterprise plan.
2. Otterly.ai
Otterly.ai tracks brand mentions, how often your brand shows up and its average position in AI answers. It also offers content audits and help choosing prompts. All plans include unlimited team members and more than 50 countries.
Lite is $29 a month for 15 prompts. Standard is $189 for 100 prompts, and Premium is $489 for 400. Paying yearly saves 15%. There’s a free trial.
- Best for: small teams and first-time buyers.
- Keep in mind: four engines, including Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT, come with every plan. Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini cost extra. On Lite, those add-ons are $29, $9 and $9 a month.
3. Scrunch
Scrunch tracks prompts across seven AI engines, including Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode, ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. It also audits your pages to see how ready they are for AI.
Starter is $300 a month, or $250 a month paid yearly. That covers 350 custom prompts, 3 users and 5 page audits. Growth is $500 a month, or $417 paid yearly, for 700 prompts. There’s a 7-day free trial with no card needed.
- Best for: mid-size teams that want many engines on one plan.
- Keep in mind: at $300 a month, it costs more to start than most tools on this list.
4. AthenaHQ
AthenaHQ tracks how often AI mentions and recommends your brand, compares you with competitors and suggests content changes. The paid plan adds a helper that works on improving your content.
The Essential plan is free, with 300 credits across five engines. Starter is $295 a month for 3,600 credits and 11 engines, including Claude and Google AI Mode.
- Best for: teams that want to try tracking for free, then grow.
- Keep in mind: pricing is in credits, not prompts. Check how far the credits go for your list of questions.
5. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit
Semrush’s AI Visibility Toolkit adds AI tracking to the Semrush SEO suite. It tracks your brand in ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and more, with daily rankings for your prompts.
It costs $99 a month per domain, paid yearly. That includes 25 custom prompts and one domain for brand reports. AI tracking is also part of Semrush One, which bundles SEO and AI tracking.
- Best for: teams that already use Semrush for SEO.
- Keep in mind: 25 prompts is a short list, and the price is per domain.
6. Ahrefs Brand Radar
Ahrefs Brand Radar tracks mentions of your brand, links to your pages, your share of AI answers against competitors and estimated views. It works two ways. Custom prompts track the exact questions you choose, every day. The AI Visibility Index shows your visibility across a database of more than 451 million prompts, with no setup.
Every paid Ahrefs plan includes a few custom prompts (5 on the Lite plan). More custom prompts start at $50 a month, or $699 a month for all engines. The index is $199 a month. There’s also a free AI visibility checker.
- Best for: Ahrefs users, and teams that want to see a whole market at once.
- Keep in mind: the pricing has several parts. The index is most useful once your brand already shows up in AI answers.
7. Goodie
Goodie pairs tracking with a monthly allowance of suggested fixes to help your brand show up in AI answers.
Core is $399 a month for 120 prompts, 5 engines, 50 suggested fixes a month and 5 seats, with a 7-day free trial. Pro is $999 a month for 250 prompts and 8 engines, including Gemini.
- Best for: teams that want tracking plus a steady list of tasks.
- Keep in mind: it has the highest starting price of the tools here that list one.
8. Profound
Profound is built for large brands. Besides tracking, it offers AI helpers for content work, data on what people ask AI, reports on AI bots that visit your site and, on its top plan, ChatGPT Shopping tracking.
A free 7-day trial runs 50 prompts a day on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. The Enterprise plan has custom pricing and tracks up to nine engines, including Claude and Google AI Mode.
- Best for: large brands and enterprise teams with a real budget.
- Keep in mind: there’s no public price for a paid plan, so you’ll need a sales call.
Some other enterprise platforms, such as Evertune and Bluefish, don’t list their prices publicly.
How to choose the right tool
- Start with your budget. Under $100 a month, look at Otterly.ai Lite, Peec AI Starter or Semrush’s toolkit. If you already pay for Ahrefs, you have a few custom prompts included.
- Check the engines your buyers use. Make sure Google’s AI Overviews, AI Mode and ChatGPT are included, not paid extras.
- Track mentions and links separately. In our study of 10,000 AI answers, when ChatGPT named brands it already knew, 85% of those mentions had no link to the brand’s own website. A tool that only counts links will miss them.
- Look for daily checks. AI answers change. When we ran the same Google search three times, the brands named overlapped only 60.06% on average. One snapshot isn’t enough.
- Get a separate view of each AI. In our study, Google’s AI Overviews and ChatGPT shared only 3.33% of their linked pages on average. One blended score can hide big gaps.
Not sure which questions and engines matter for your brand? A free AI visibility audit can show you before you pay for a tool. For the tracking side in more depth, see how to track your brand in AI. Software companies can also see AI SEO for SaaS.
What an AI visibility tool can’t do
A tool measures. It shows where you’re missing, which competitors get named and which pages each AI leans on. Some tools suggest fixes. But the work that changes the answers happens outside the tool.
Our study shows why. In Google’s AI Overviews, 80.69% of the links next to brand mentions went to other websites, not the brand’s own site. About half (49.83%) of the pages AI Overviews linked to were already in Google’s top 10. So getting recommended usually means earning a place on trusted pages and on pages that rank. That takes outreach, content and follow-up from real people. For the steps, see how to get recommended by ChatGPT.
